Near death experiences and beef jerky

An extract from Alexisonfire's Journals...

"we started our american tour with senses fail, saosin and the sleeping last week. so far the shows have been awesome, the kids have been radical, and for some reason steele and i have been eating so much beef jerky it is almost unbelievable!!! the other night we were driving from Charlotte, N.C. to our hotel about an hour away. i was starting to get a little bit dozy, so i decided to put hot water music on.(i usually listen to them late at night because i cant help but sing along and it keeps me awake) so there i am driving, singing along, basically having a wonderful time to myself. all of a sudden, i notice headlights coming towards me in my lane. at first i thought i was just seeing things, but as the lights started to get closer i realized that we were about 30 seconds away from dying. i cranked the wheel as hard as i could to the right and missed the car by about 50 feet. 50 feet may seem like a long distance, but when you are driving 120 km/hr towards an oncoming vehicle, you tend to freak out!!! i finally eased up on the steering wheel after a couple of minutes and called the police. the strangest part about the whole occurrance was that the other driver didnt even flinch. it was like he didnt even notice the 15 passenger van towing a 16 ft trailer speeding towards him!!! whats the moral of this story you ask? hot water music and beef jerky are both amazing things that you should all experience. almost dying on a dark highway in north carolina is not.

love dallas.
