It is a concept album with each song telling a story. In this case the death of the main protagonist and his journey through the afterlife. Initially he is unhappy at his situation as a ghost but the story ends with the acceptance of his death and moving on to whatever follows. Initial copies of the CD came with a bonus DVD that features live footage of the band, music videos for the songs My Town and Dream to Make Believe and also a 'making of' documentary of this CD. Also with the CD, was a little booklet entitled What To Do When You Are Dead: A Comprehensive Guide to The Afterlife which features ways in which to cope if you find youself unexpectedly dead. If you play the first song but immediately rewind it, you will find a short (approx. 1. 30 minute) hidden song in which the main character of the story talks of his death before he commits suicide in "Car Underwater", it is an acoustic track.
