Fall Out Boy is set to begin recording follow up to From Under the Cork Tree in early June, with a release planned for late fall or early winter of 2006. Pete Wentz has commented that the album is a commentary on the current "scene" in music.
The title for the album is a tight-lipped secret among the band, and Pete Wentz says it will tie the whole theme of the album together. Over twenty songs have been written for the album, but Wentz expects only 12-15 to make the cut. He also confirmed that there will be three love songs on the album. Several track names have been released, but are subject to change.
Confirmed Songs
You Can't Spell Star Without A&R - A song referencing the band's feud with labelmates The Killers.
They Make Plans, We Make History - A song about how bands focus on what they believe they need to do rather than just doing it.
Gay Is Not a Synonym for Shitty
Possible Songs
Time Machine - Recently played on Black Clouds And Underdogs Tour.
Go Down In History - Recently played on Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour, but might be another name for "They Make Plans, We Make History"
Also, Wentz has commented on possibly putting together a collection of Fall Out Boy B-sides and rarities for a release, but there is no information on whether or not this project has (or will) begin.
