Discography
Chapter V (2005)
Staind promoted Chapter V by allowing selected fans to preview it on their tour bus. The band is set to tour with 3 Doors Down across the United States in the coming months to promote the album.

14 Shades of Grey (2003)
The album is softer than previous efforts with the exception of the first single and first track "Price to Play". "Price to Play" is trademark of their sound with heavy guitars in the verses, soaring vocal harmonies & melody/harmony guitars to complement the vocals. The album is a different direction for Staind, being more of a mainstream rock album than a nu-metal album. The screaming and anger of previous albums is almost non-existent. This album has a more positive attitude than the band's previous efforts. "Layne" is a tribute to Layne Staley, late Alice in Chains singer.

Break the Cycle (2001)
It is Staind's most successful album, and what broke them into the mainstream. It was a huge success for the band, as it spent several weeks at number 1 position in the US album charts.

Break the Cycle is similar to its predecessors in terms of heaviness, but also uses much more melody. Examples of this can be found on Dysfunction in the songs "Home" and "Excess Baggage", but the album's lyrical content is still similar to the previous Staind albums, but they do carry a message of hope.

A total of 5 singles were released from this album, "It's Been Awhile", "Fade", "Outside", "For You" and "Epiphany".

Dysfunction (1999)
Dysfunction is Staind's second recording, and their first release under the Flip/Elektra label. "Just Go", "Mudshovel" and "Home" were released as singles. The song "Mudshovel" can also be found on their previous album, Tormented, abeit in a slightly different form, although this version of the song goes under the title of "Mudshuvel".

The album's artwork is also worthy of note as it reflects the album's title. All four band members are depicted with dysfunctional properties related to their position in the band; Aaron (vocalist) is shown without a mouth, Mike (guitarist) is shown with webbed hands, Johnny (bassist) is shown with only one arm and Jon (drums and percussion) is shown with no eyes. Finally the most obvious reference to the album's title is on the cover; the clown's reflection is incorrect.

Dysfunction contains a hidden track called "Excess Baggage", included after a long period of silence at the end of "Spleen".

Tormented (1996)
Previously only available in limited quantities in New England, Tormented has been re-released in response to overwhelming demand from fans at Staind.com. This eleven-song explosion of Springfield hardcore was on the racks at gigs and local record stores well before Staind was signed to Elektra Records. None of the music has been altered from its original state, and the only places available for purchase is from Staind.com and amazon.com. Many of the songs on the album deal with pain, hate and depression.
