Brief Biography
The Used is a rock band of disputed genre from Orem, Utah, United States. The bands genre is often widely debated, even amongst fans with some claiming them to be, amongst others, Post Hardcore, Emo, Screamo, Pop Rock and even Pop Punk. The band has refused to comment on this issue with Bert McCracken (Vocals) stating in an interview that he 'doesn't care about what genre they are as long as they make good music.' Their self-titled debut album The Used has so far sold nearly 200,000 copies and counting. The band later released Maybe Memories, a live album featuring the songs from their self-titled album and previously unreleased home demos that also included live footage and interviews on DVD. They released their second album In Love and Death, on September 28, 2004.

While only eleven tracks are featured on the standard copy of Lies for the Liars, bonus tracks will be released on certain versions. In total, the band have stated that they have recorded 19 songs, from 40 that were written in preparation for the album.
